Why we recommend Cloudflare
Banyan Tree Design usually recommends Cloudflare when a client is registering a new domain or cleaning up an existing domain setup. It gives the business one client-owned place for domain registration, DNS records, SSL, CDN, security controls, Turnstile, firewall rules, and useful traffic visibility.
The point is not to lock you into one provider. It is to keep the important website controls organized, portable, and owned by your business instead of scattered across old accounts or held by a vendor.
What Cloudflare helps with
Not every project uses every Cloudflare feature. These are the main reasons we often point new website clients toward it.
Domain registration
Your domain stays in your account, with predictable renewal management and less account handoff later.
DNS management
DNS controls where your website, email, and related services point. Cloudflare keeps those records in one clear place.
SSL and CDN
Cloudflare can serve the site over HTTPS and route traffic through a global content delivery network.
Security controls
Firewall rules, basic bot protection, and Turnstile can be added when a site or form needs more protection.
Traffic visibility
Cloudflare analytics can provide useful traffic and request visibility without turning the site into a complex analytics project.
Future flexibility
If hosting, forms, or infrastructure change later, the domain and DNS layer remains stable and client-owned.
How access should work
You should create or keep control of the Cloudflare account. If Banyan Tree Design needs to configure DNS, connect a website, review SSL, or set up security controls, invite us as a user in Cloudflare instead of sending your password.
- Create or log into your own Cloudflare account
- Add or register the domain in your account
- Keep your billing and account recovery information under your control
- Invite Banyan Tree Design only when setup or support access is needed
- Remove or reduce access after handoff if you prefer
If you already use another provider
Already using GoDaddy, Namecheap, Squarespace, Wix, Google Domains legacy accounts, or another DNS provider? That is usually workable. We may still recommend Cloudflare when it reduces complexity, improves security, or makes launch and future support cleaner.
Domain transfers and DNS changes need care. Some businesses should keep an existing registrar and only move DNS. Others may benefit from moving both registration and DNS. We will review the current setup before recommending either path.
Hosting and infrastructure
Cloudflare is usually the domain and DNS layer. Website hosting, application hosting, forms, and other infrastructure may be handled separately depending on the project. When managed hosting or infrastructure is part of the support relationship, Banyan Tree Design can set up and maintain the pieces needed for the agreed scope.
We do not publish every underlying hosting vendor or internal setup detail for a project. What matters for handoff is that your domain stays yours, the important records are documented, and you know what Banyan Tree Design is managing for you.
Do not send passwords
Please do not send Cloudflare passwords, recovery codes, API tokens, or private account credentials by email, text, portal message, or attachment. Use account invitations whenever possible.

Cloudflare is the recommended default for many new Banyan Tree Design website projects because it keeps domain control, DNS, security, and future changes organized. It is a recommendation, not a requirement for every client.
